About Omniae

For Sheryl Fonseca, arriving somewhere new has been a recurring theme throughout her life.

Born in San Francisco to Salvadoran parents, Sheryl spent parts of her childhood living in the United States, El Salvador, and Canada before eventually making Miami her home. Each move meant more than a new address. It meant learning a new culture, understanding a different way of life, building new relationships, and figuring out how to belong somewhere unfamiliar.

Over time, adapting became second nature.

Moving between countries and cultures taught Sheryl to be curious, flexible, and comfortable navigating the unknown. It also shaped the way she sees the world: every place has its own rhythm, its own expectations, and its own way of doing things. Understanding those differences is part of what allows us to truly experience a place rather than simply visit it.

Perhaps it is no surprise, then, that travel became one of the great passions of her life.

Sheryl has now traveled to more than 30 countries, continuously drawn to the experience of arriving somewhere she has never been before. For her, travel is about discovery, culture, connection, and the perspective that comes from stepping outside what is familiar.

Her professional life followed a similar pattern of curiosity and problem-solving. Over more than 16 years, Sheryl built a career spanning advertising, marketing, technology, and digital transformation. With a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Advertising, an MBA, and a master's degree in Information Systems, much of her work has focused on understanding complicated systems and finding ways to make them work better for the people using them.

Eventually, those two parts of her life came together.

Even after decades of adapting to new places and traveling the world, Sheryl found that preparing for a trip could still be unnecessarily complicated. Important information was scattered across government websites, travel platforms, forums, apps, and countless searches. And once you arrived, seemingly simple questions could suddenly become difficult when you didn't understand how things worked locally.

She began asking a simple question:

Why does navigating somewhere new have to be so complicated?

That question became the foundation for Omniae.

Every feature within Omniae exists for a reason. Many began with a real experience: something Sheryl encountered herself, a situation a friend or family member faced while abroad, or a moment when important information or a simple solution was much harder to find than it should have been.

Those experiences became problems to solve.

Rather than accepting those moments as simply part of traveling, Sheryl began asking how technology could make them easier. Over time, those questions became features, and those features became a platform designed around the realities of how women actually experience travel.

Sheryl envisioned a more seamless way to explore the world: one that helps women understand a destination before they arrive, anticipate what they may encounter, and have the information they need when plans don't go exactly as expected.

Omniae brings together the experiences that have shaped Sheryl's life: adapting to new cultures, exploring the world, solving complex problems, and using technology to make complicated things feel simpler.

Because some of the most extraordinary experiences in her life have begun with arriving somewhere she'd never been before.

Sheryl created Omniae because she believed there was a better way to explore the world.

Because women don't need to be fearless to explore the world. They just need to be ready.
