Supporting Ashley’s Awareness Mission
Ashley King's life changed after methanol poisoning left her permanently blind. Her experience highlights a serious global safety concern: in some regions, illegally produced or contaminated alcohol can enter legitimate supply chains and be unknowingly served in restaurants, bars, hostels, or clubs.
Methanol contamination is not visible, and even small amounts can cause irreversible damage. While outbreaks are sometimes reported, not all cases receive widespread attention.
Awareness matters. Understanding the risks can help travelers make more informed decisions.
Today, Ashley is turning her experience into action. She is raising awareness about the dangers of methanol contamination and advocating for stronger education and prevention efforts worldwide.
